The OWM5's slim, uniquely curved design and removable base give you plenty of placement options, including on-wall or corner mounting for a clean, out-of-the-way installation. But its small size doesn't stop this speaker from delivering impressively spacious sound. Polk's Dynamic Balance® drivers resist resonance that can cause distortion — you'll notice detail that makes every listening experience more lifelike and enjoyable.

Driver Technology

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Capacitive Coupling Bass Technology: Capacitive Coupling Technology (CCT) works by creating a gentle impedance dip within the range where conventional sealed-box loudspeakers are subject to severely reduced bass output. Lower impedance within this critical frequency range means improved acoustic sensitivity by exploiting your power amplifier's ability to deliver more power to the bass frequencies. The net result for the OWM5's performance is 3dB more bass output over a fairly broad range.

Polypropylene Woofers: The speaker features two 4-1/2" polypropylene cone woofers which employs Capacitive Coupling Bass Technology for a low frequency response despite its size.

Silk Tweeter: The speaker has a 1" silk dome, Dynamic Balance tweeter that provides clear, detailed highs.

Frequency Response Note: The overall frequency response is 60Hz-25kHz and the -3dB frequency response is 80-22kHz.

Enclosure Design

Glass-filled ABS Cabinets: The acoustic suspension cabinet features glass-filled ABS construction, which creates an acoustically inert enclosure. The cabinet ensures an extremely clean midrange response with low coloration. The speaker comes in a paintable black or white finish to blend easily with any decor.

Connections

Binding Posts: The speaker has a set of gold-plated, 5-way binding posts on the bottom of the angled rear panel. The binding posts will accept bare wire, spade lugs, pin connectors, and single or dual banana plugs (removal of binding post plugs required).
